Beechworth Chain Gang Five Year Plan Survey

We’re currently conducting a survey to support the development of the club’s Five Year Plan 2023-2028.

We’d be so appreciative if you could spare a few minutes to fill it out for us, and in return you can go into the draw to win one of two $50 vouchers (Bridge Road Brewery and Beechworth Cyclery).

The Survey has now closed. Thank you to all who filled it out for us!

Why a survey?

The Beechworth Chain Gang (BCG) aims to conduct, encourage, promote, advance, and administer mountain bike riding and related cycling disciplines throughout the local area, including maintaining Beechworth Mountain Bike (MTB) Park and the Flame Trees mountain bike trail.

Our members and community represent all different ability levels and types of bike riding, including bike riding for transport, recreation, sport and fun, both on and off road.

BCG started in 2000 and has a rich history of trail and rider development, social activities, cycling advocacy, community engagement, tourism promotion and much more. Imagine what we could do if we had a five year plan to guide us!

Planning is a way to gain consensus – sharing and working towards a vision for the future, which can develop cohesion amongst our members. This process represents an opportunity:

  •    for the development of our club’s purpose and autonomy
  •    to define its challenges and prepare to address them
  •    to be used for effective interaction with external bodies.

Please note that the five year plan is not an unrealistic ‘wish-list’ beyond the club’s capabilities to achieve in the timeframe. Further, it is not considered the solution to the club’s problems.

It’s time to get your feedback on our new five-year plan – with your input, the club’s direction can continue to represent its members!

We’d love to have your feedback on all of the survey, but we recognise that some people have specific interest areas. So, the questions aren’t compulsory – answer what you can! Also, if you have other suggestions that don’t fit into the survey, there is space to put your ideas at the end.

The survey will take between 5 – 15 minutes depending on how many sections you complete. Please complete the survey by midnight on Sunday 12 June 2022.

Once we have feedback from members and the community via this survey, we will host a feedback drop-in session between 5.00pm and 8.00pm on Thursday 16 June at the Bridge Road Brewery. Club members will have the opportunity to chat with the Committee and vote on the ideas raised through the survey. In exchange, we will provide free pizza!

We will provide another survey following the drop-in session enabling everyone to provide feedback on the ideas for those who can’t make it.

If you have any questions, please email

With thanks in advance for your help,

The BCG Committee
