Round 4 of Alpine Junior MTB Race Series is hosted

Round 4 of Alpine Junior MTB Race Series is hosted by Beechworth Chain Gang, a Cross Country race at the beautiful, granity Beechwoth Mountain Bike Park.
Courses are set for the development stages of riders with the younger riders doing a much easier and shorter course.

All riders must have a current MTBA or AusCycling Racing Licence - you must provide evidence of your valid licence at race plate collection.

Hey BCG members, friends and Beechworth MTB Park users.
Many of you are likely familiar with the Trailforks and Strava apps. But did you know that you can synchronize your Strava log with Trailforks Ridelog? You might be wondering why BCG are promoting these apps. The data collected on Trailforks is really important source of ride information that can be used by the club to demonstrate usage of the park/trails and can be used for advocacy and grant submissions (see below example of usage data). We need your help to more accurately reflect the actual usage of our trails. See the link below to read more about how to link Strava to Trailforks - we hope you can support the club in this.

We have reshaped the takeoffs on Don’t be a Hero

We have reshaped the takeoffs on Don’t be a Hero so make sure you check them out before launching next time. Thanks to Mike for his work!👍🥵💪.
Our next priority is to tidy up the berms on Snakes 🐍 that are a bit rutted and washing out. The trails dry out really fast at the moment so timing our work is difficult and we are trying to do work immediately after rain. Drop us a line at trailsbcg@gmail.com if you want to discuss or help with trail maintenance.

Late call for a spring clean at the MTB Park this afternoon. We need to cut back some of the spring growth that is hanging over the trails. Also need to wippersnip the grass to keep hitchhikers out of our socks.

There has been a lot falling lately from trees to small sticks so be careful when riding.
